Play in the bowling championship this morning was under ideal conditions, with a cool easterly breeze. Losses were serious matters for those with five or four wins, as to qualify for the post-section play, which begins tomorrow, six wins are required. Many fours were eliminated with a loss on this morning's game, and the afternoon game will decide the fate of others, quite a number now having five wins. Fours with seven wins after the seventh game are R. Haworth (Canterbury), E. R. Moss (Karoro), G. H. Woolley (Auckland), H. P. Perry (Thorndon), T. F. Mitchell (Blenheim), A. G. Spiers (St. Kilda), H. Wilson (Linwood), L. W. Besley (New Brighton), T. F. Chambers (Sumner), and J. Whyte (R.S.A., Christchurch). SIX WINS. Those with six wins are:— Bremner (Auckland), J. Gunn (West End, Timaru), Rowland (Balmoral), Crawford (Otago), J. Martin (United), Veitch (Dunedin), O'Neill (Runanga), Ferguson (Balmacewen), Woolley (Auckland), GiiDert (Karori), McNish (Canterbury), Maslin (Hawera), Kyle (Karcro), Ure (.North End, Invercargill), HadwLi (Hutt), McCormish ( Southland). Livingstone's Onehunga four lost their game and were eliminated at the hands of Stoneman's Sumner rink, who thus got their necessary sixth win and go on to the next stage. A sensational success was scored for a sixth win by W. F. Hadwin's Hutt four, who eliminated Edgeware (E. A. Smith), 46-5. Another Edgeware rink (G, Williams) was eliminated by Wellington (A. F. Spiller). KELBURN STILL A CHANCE. The five winners have this afternoon's game in which to qualify. They are Owaka (Alloo), Wellington (Goldfinch), Taieri (Carswell), Canterbury (Munn), Christchurch (Barnsdale), Ponsonby (Higginbotham), Kelburn (Smith), Hokitika (Bain), Tauranga (Bell), Woolston (Samms), St. Albans i (Dv Feu), United (Giles), Phoenix, Oamaru (Calder), Canterbury (McKinley), Shirley (Williams), Woolston (Burgess), Riccarton (Burgess), Dunedin (Anderson), Canterbury (Turpin), and Phoenix (Thomson).
