VOGELTOWN FIRE

A four-roomed cottage at 46 McColl Street, Vogeltown, was destroyed' by fire last night. The alarm was given at 9.24 p.m., and two fire engines, one from Brooklyn and the other from the central station, attended. Two leads of hose were run out, and in about five minutes the flames were extinguished, but not before the house and its contents had been practically destroyed.

The cottage, which was owned by the Wellington City Council, was one of the oldest in the district, and was due for demolition shortly. The occupier was Mr. A. M. MacDougal.
