MANY VOLUNTEERS
FIRE-BOMB FIGHTERS
APPEAL BY MINISTER
(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 13, 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 12. More than 100,000 persons in the London region have enrolled as firebomb fighters stationed in private and business premises. Mr. H. Morrison, Minister of National Security, emphasised that the results are still short of the requirements of many boroughs and that in every district at least one member of each family should volunteer so that not a single house, office, or factory building is left unprotected.
