INDIA'S AID TO BRITAIN
PLANES OVER HALF-MILLION

India has already provided for aircraft purposes alone enough money to buy over 1000 Spitfires—£s37,ooo out of a total of over £860,000 sent to Britain from the Viceroy's War Purposes Fund. The value of India's contribution as a whole is shown by . the fact that the Viceroy's Fund has now reached nearly £2,000,000. {The allocations include nearly £80,000 to the British Exchequer, over £100,000 to the Lord Mayor's Air Raid Distress Fund, over £50,000 to the King George's Fund for Sailors, and £32,000 has been sent to St. Dunstan's Hospital.
