HOME GUARD
THE THORNDON SUB-AREA
The Thorndon Home Guard sub-area will have its men, including those for E.P.S. duties, on parade very shortly, and i$ is expected by the committee responsible for activities in the district ' that enrolments will increase greatly •as operations are , set under way. The first parade has been called for Thursday, January 23. Arrangements have nov n made for this to be held at' the .ridon School, and it wiH.be.for thosw m both the military and'civil sections, entry to the school grounds; being •by Murphy Street. It will be largely a recruiting parade, and at it information will be, supplied by responsible officers. Meanwhile enrolments, are .being taken at the recruiting - office' in Sydney Street: between 7.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. each day from Monday. ;to ■•Friday, .
