UNION BANK DIVIDEND
The inspector of the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., has received a cable message stating that the board of directors has declared a final dividend for the year ended August 31, 1940; of 4s a share, being at the rate of 4 per cent, less United Kingdom income tax at 6s 2£d in the £ y (the standard rate of 8s 6d in the' £, less Dominion relief of 2s 32d in the £). The dividend is payable on 'January 29 at current rate of exchange for demand drafts on London at the rate of the dividend warrants. Transfer books were closed from December 30 to January 4, both dates inclusive. The general meeting of proprietors will be held in London on January 27.
