NEW YEAR WISHES
UNITED STATES AND ITALY
WASHINGTON, December 31
President Roosevelt sent a message to King Victor Emmanuel of Italy on the advent of 1941, in which he said he hoped that during : the year "the Italians will be enabled to enjoy the blessings of a righteous peace."
It was in reply to King Victor Emmanuel's "cordial good wishes to the people of the United States and to you personally."
