LATE SHOPPING NIGHT
Another late shopping night will be observed in Wellington tonight, the usual hours being extended to 9 o'clock. The city retail establishments will b« closed on New Year's Day and Thurs« day and reopen on Friday, but there will be no late shopping night that day, when the normal closing time of 5.30 p.m. will be observed.
Court of London, Middlesex, and parts of Surrey, Kent, and Essex. A reference to "the Baillie" appears as early as 1289. Executions used to take place in public here until 1869. The place is full of criminal associations, and few others, as might be expected. In 1830 the pillory was set up there for the last time.
