TIMARU, December 30
The New- Zealand Chess Congress continued today, two sessions being held. Results of completed games are:
Fifth Round.—Newick beat Kelling, Wade drew with Allerhand, Bennett beat Lennard, Fairburn beat Vincent.
Sixth Round. —Wade beat Bennett, Kelling beat Vincent.
Results in the major open tournament are:—Fifth round: Pearse beat Miss Collinson, Steele beat Mrs. Short, Hardy beat Kemshed. Sixth round: Wallace beat Kemshed, Hardy beat Miss Collinson, Mrs. Golding beat Pearse, Traves and Mrs. Short drew.
