Moderate and variable winds

A possible shower or two tonight, but the weather otherwise will be fine and milt!, and there is likely to be a continuance of fair weather during the next day or two.

The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for north-westerly winds about the Cook Strait area, but otherwise moderate to fresh winds from between west and south will predominate. The weather for the most part will be fair to fine, but a few scattered showers are likely in the morning, especially in the south. Temperatures in the north will be mild to warm, and in the south moderate.

Although a trough of low pressure advanced from the Tasman Sea across the South Island, pressure remained high during the weekend over . the whole New Zealand area, Winds from a northerly quarter have blown about and south of Cook Strait, but elsewhere winds have been variable, with westerly directions predominating, and they have been mainly light to moderate in force. The weather for the most part has been fair to fine, but there was an extensive area of fog yesterday morning, and some scattered light showers fell in the Westland, Wellington, and Taranaki Provinces. Temperatures have been mild to warm.
