TANGIER DISPUTE
DISCUSSIONS IN MADRID

The British Consul-General, at Tangier, Mr. Gascoine, has arrived at Madrid for conversations regarding the situation created by the action of the Spanish authorities at Tangier in connection with an Italian submarine which took refuge there. The British Ambassador at Madrid, Sir Samuel Hoare, who immediately took up the question with the Spanish Foreign Minister, Senor Suner, was authorised to invite Mr. Gascoine to proceed to Madrid for consultations.
