NEW ZEALAND PILOT
Official advice was received by Air Headquarters this morning that Pilot Officer William Kenry Hodgson, son of Mr. H. Hodgson, 241 Macandrew Road, South Dunedin, has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. No official details concerning the award are ye^ available.
Pilot Officer Hodgson was born at Frankton Junction and is 20 years of age. He was educated at the King Edward Technical College, Dunedin, and after leaving school he was employed as a radio serviceman. In 1937 he joined the National Broadcasting Service with 4YA, Dunedin. He was prominent in sporting circles, and was an Otago junior Rugby representative.
Pilot Officer Hodgson joined the R.N.Z.A.F. last year and was transferred for service overseas after the outbreak of war.
