WIND IN THE MANAWATU
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
PALMERSTON N., This Day.
Saturday's rain in the Manawatu was welcome to the farming community, but not so the heavy wind, which seriously affected seed crops. Haymaking has been in progress for some week's, and the quality of the hay is said to be excellent.
Fruit trees also suffered as a result of the high wind on Saturday.
