ANTHRACITE COAL
SERIOUS OUTLOOK IN WALES
LONDON, December 20,
The Swansea Chamber of Commerce states that 6000 wagons of anthracite coal are awaiting clearance from Welsh collieries. Orders for coal total
12,000 tons, but customers have stopped ordering, owing to the hdpeless position. The closure of collieries has reduced the output to 35 per cent, of that of last year. The whole anthracite industry will have to close down unless rail transport is improved.
