VIENNA DISORDERS
MANY ARRESTS MADE
UNPOPULAR NAZI GOVERNOR
HOOTED AT FOOTBALL MATCH
LONDON, December 20,
News has been received in London of disturbances in Vienna in the beginning of this month. There were demonstrations in the market hall of the third district of Vienna on December 4 and many arrests were made.
More arrests were made at a recent football match in Vienna, after the new Governor had been hooted.
The next day the manager of a rubber factory was imprisoned for insulting the Governor, and the workers in the factory immediately went on strike. Other reports from Austria provide evidence of the growing unpopularity of the new Governor. A few weeks ago he visited a factory' and was greeted with what the Nazi Press is fond of calling "stormy, unceasing) cheers." The cheers went on so long that he had to retire without making his speech.
