V.M.C.A. BOYS' CAMP
An advance party has left the Wellington V.M.C.A. for Falmerston North to make preparations for the combined summer camp at Pohangina, which will accommodate 200 boys during January. The advance party was met at. Palmerston North by directors of the local association, headed by Mr. G. Elliott, chairman, and taken to the camp site. This is a' delightful spot, situated in a clearing of a. totara reserve on the banks. of the Pohangina River and sheltered by the foothills of the Ruahine ranges.
The site has been developed and cared for .by the Palmerston North V.M.C.A., and is ideal for the purpose of providing an open-air holiday for city boys. During the weekend volunteers from the Palmerston North Association will complete the necessary preliminary work, and the main contingent of boys, both from Wellington and Palmerston North, will enter camp on Boxing Day.
