WAR IN ALBANIA

CENTRE OF INTEREST

ARGYROKASTRON SECTOR

VITAL AIRFIELD GONE

;B.v Telegraph^-l'ress Association—Copyright.)

(Received November 28, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, November 27.

Harried by the Greek army and the British-Greek- air forces, the Italians today continued their hasty retreat in the northern and central sectors, but apparently reinforcements in the southern sector have stiffened the resistance against repeated Greek attacks aiming at the encirclement of.

Argyrokastron- the-Italian evacuation of which was prematurely reported.

While the pursuit is most rapid and the quantity of abandoned material greatest in the northern sector, it is the front from Argyrokastron to the

sea which is at present attracting, most interest., , According ,to the "Telegraph's" Athens correspondent, the Greek forces are, clearly very near to Argyrokastron, and its aerodrome is out of action. This is the last of Italy's advanced air'bases in' Albania; thus the strategical position, of Argyrbkastron is critiqal for the Italians in view of any attempt to re-establish the front. .
