EAST OF SUEZ
EMPIRE COUNTRIES
ALL AID TO BRITAIN
LONDON, November 26,
The determination of the British countries east of Suez to give Britain all help in their power has been reiterated by Sir Walter Massy Greene in his farewell address, at the final session of the New Delhi conference on war supplies.
Sir Walter, who is leader of the Australian delegation, said: "We know if Britain falls, we fall too. If the rampant tyranny which is seeking to dominate us should place its foul foot on British soil, we, too, would feel the weight of the oppressor's heel, and that common heritage of freedom which is ours today would be ours no longer."
The Government of India is carrying on part of the conference secretariat until a definite decision is taken on the conference recommendation that a representative body should be set up to continue the work. It is recommended that the body should co-ordi-nate supply and production and help in arranging new sources of production.
