NO FACILITIES
HORTICULTURE STUDENTS
The inability of young people to1 train in Wellington for the Diploma of the Royal Institute of Horticulture was the subject of comment at a meeting of the Wellington College board of governors yesterday afternoon. The question was raised some time ago by the board, which sent a letter to the City Council expressing the opinion that some arrangements should be made for providing a suitable course in Wellington. At the meeting yesterday a reply was received from the. iTown Clerk, stating that the reserves
committee had decided that until adequate glasshouse accommodation was provided at the Botanical Gardens the council would be unable to provide facilities for the training of students in horticulture. The question of extending the glasshouses for the purpose would receive consideration when funds were available.
