The Wellington Man-Power Committee has granted adjournments sine die in 68 cases of seafaring men drawn by ballot for Territorial training. Sixty-two of the men were employees of the Union Steam Ship Company, five employees of the Holm Shipping Company, and one an employee of the Anchor Shipping Company. The appeals were all by the employers and carried the endorsement of the Shipowners' Federation, where such endorsement was necessary.

Mr. M. F. Luckie presided, and the other members of the committee were Mr. R. Cable and Mr. A. Parlane, deputising for Mr. E. E. Canham. Certificates by his Grace Archbishop O'Shea accompanied appeals on behalf of 32 Roman Catholic priests, Marist Brothers, and others in Holy Orders.
