The Husimi Maru has left Galway with Japanese evacuees. She will travel by Panama. Many complained that they were allowed to take, out only £10. Journalists who saw the ship off supplied some with a few pence to buy tea.

Fires were started and explosions were caused in the dockyard area, and destroyers and submarines were bombed. i
