Exploding a bomb which, had been dropped by enemy aircraft on the parade ground at- a British aerodrome. The bomb did not burst at the time and buried itself deep in the ground, wliere : it'ywas later destroyed by the station's armament officer. The photograph gives a good idea of the power of, a bomb, but.the effect is very different from that of an explosion on the surface. s ■ .
