, (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)] (Received October 30, 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 29. i It is officially announced that the shipping losses for the week ended October 21 totalled 198,000 tons, comprising 45 ships, of which 32 were British, seven Allied, and six neutral. . .*, This heavy total is mainly due to a big concentration of German submarines in thji|| l Atlantic, against which the fullest precautions are being taken. .-. .. ■ j ; Of the total tonnage lost 146,528 wag ! British, 24,686 .Allied,1 and 26,8.16 neujtral. ' | The total, although above the average for the previous 58 weeks, which is approximately 57,000 tons a week, is considerably less than the grosslyinflated German claim of 467,440 tons.
