Figures relating to the week ended at midnight on October 13 show that seven British vessels totalling 32,370 tons gross were lost and that three Allied and three neutral vessels totalling 17,537 and 13,358 tons respectively were also lost. The grand total was 63,265 tons, compared with 122,041 tons which the enemy claimed to have sunk in this' period.
