STATE FOREST SERVICE

CHRISTCHURCH, October 21. Important South Island changes in the State Forest Service have been announced.
Mr. F. K. Perham, since April of this year Conservator of State Forests in- Canterbury, has been transferred to Hokitika as Conservator in Westland, where the Department has large timber resources under its control. Formerly Mr. Perham wag chief ranger in Southland.
The new Conservator in Canterbury will be Mr. R. H. Murray, at present conservator in Nelson.
Mr. Perham came to Christchurch this year to replace Mr. Courtenay Biggs, who had also been transferred to Hokitika. Mr. Biggs is now a commissioned officer serving with the Forestry Corps.
The average equipment of an American railroad dining car includes 800 pieces of china, 240 pieces of glassware, 550 pieces of, silver, 980 napkins and tablecloths, and 200 kitchen and pantry items.
