STUDYING PACIFIC AREA
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) ; AUCKLAND, October 22. A former Governor of New Caledonia, Monsieur L. A. N. Jore, passed through Auckland by the Mariposa on his way to Canada. He was accompanied by Madame Jore. He said he intended to devote his time to the study of various problems at present receiving attention in the Pacific area. Mr. Jore retired from his post in New | Caledonia about 18 months ago. He said he had not been there while the recent conflict in allegiance had been reaching its peak, which resulted in a* declaration for General de Gaulle. He! had spent most of his time in retirement in Australia. I
