FATE OF BURGOMASTER OF
BRUSSELS

October 11. | A German announcement that a German commissioner has been installed in the Hotel de Ville of Brussels has given rise to fears among Belgians in London that M. Van de Meulebroack, Burgomaster of Brussels, may have suffered or may be on the point of suffering from the same fate as his predecessor of 1914, the late Burgomaster! Adolphe Max, who was deported to Germany because he refused to bow j to the demands of the invader. j The announcement, together with other information that has been received, creates the impression that a (strained situation exists in the Belgian i capital. _____
