PERSONAL NOTES
Miss Lorna Hutton will leave Dunedin today for Wellington, whence she will travel by air to' Auckland to connect with the air services to Malaya, where her marriage will take place to Mr. William T. Dunne, late of Dunedin. Mrs. F. Grotrian, "Konewa," Ashhurst, is visiting Wellington and is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Shahd. Tinakori Road. Miss Patricia JHyan has returned to Wellington after spending a short holiday at Auckland. Mrs. T. Goodwin is a Christehurch visitor to Wellington! Mrs. M. A. Whitcombe, Devonport, Auckland, celebrated her ninety-second birthday on Thursday. Mrs. Whitcombe is the widow of Mr. C. D. Whitcombe, at one time Commissioner of Crown Lands for Taranaki, and Foreign Secretary to the Government of Tonga. She was one of the early pioneers of Taranaki. • .
