MUNIFICENT GIFT
BANK OF NEW ZEALAND
The board of directors of the Bank of New Zealand, at a meeting yesterday, authorised a donation of £1000 towards ttfe appeal being made by the Governor-General for the relief of distress caused by the air raids over London.
The amount is to be allocated among the eleven provincial councils in proportion to their respective quotas.
TWO SUBSTANTIAL CHEQUES. The National Patriotic Fund Board has received £100 from the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., and £500 from Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd., for the relief of distress in London, The £500 from Woolworths is to be credited to the provincial London distress funds as follows: —Auckland, £150; Wellington, £150; Canterbury, £70; Otago, £45; Hawke's Bay, £20; Southland, £20; Taranaki, £15; East Coast, £10; Westland, £10; Nelson, £10.
