£500,000,000 A YEAR
LONDON, September 20,
The British purchases of war materials in the United States now total £500.000,000. The British Purchasing Commission estimates a similar expenditure during the second year of the war. Aircraft contracts alone have amounted to £300,000,000. .
It is understood that Britain is now getting about ten new military planes a day from America and that next summer it is hoped that the figure will be increased to about 70 a day.
