PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The history of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand is the subject of a Centennial publication of value ©nd note. Dr. J. K. Elder, of Otago trfiiversity, with a number of collaborators, has covered a wide field. The took, which is well illustrated, is divided into three sections —the Period Of Beginnings to 1860, the Period of Growth, 1860-1940, and the Church and the People, containing 19 chapters in all. Tbvre are four pages of bibliography, and an appendix of 40 pages containing a-register of the ministers who have served the Church during the first hundred years of its history, With four maps illustrating the distribution of the population and the location of the churches. Every department Of the Church's life and work feceives its due place in the history, «»d the book will be read with interrby all Presbyterians and by many other denominations.
