SHAKESPEAREAN SEASON.
The war months in London have been a season of revivals; Shakespeare has been in session at; the Old Vie, "King Lear" being followed by "The Tempest." In the role of Prospero, John Gielgud gave as notable a performance as he gave in the preceding months in "King Lear." Jessica Tandy played Miranda; Marius Goring was cast as Ariel, arid Mr. Guinness played Ferdinand. Jack Hawkins portrayed Caliban. j ■
