PUBLIC NOTICES. WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the oth August, 1940, the following resolution was passed, viz.:— That the Wellington City Council m pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926 and the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 and their amendments and in pursuance of an Order-iu-Council dated the 26th day of Juue, 1940, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 70 of the 4th day of July, 1940 at page 1619 and in pursuance and in exercise of all other Acts powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf doth hereby resolve by way of special order as follows:— 1. That a special loan of Four hundred and eighty-four thousand five hundred pounds (£484,500) to be known as the "Wellington City Electric-power Station Construction and Tramways Improvement Loan 1920 Renewal Loan 1940" be raised in New Zealand by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of repaying in London to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient the Wellington City Klec-trie-power Station Construction and Tramways Improvement Loan 1920 which matures on the Ist day of December 1940. 2. In respect of portion of the said special loan amounting to Two hundred and Fifty-five thousand pounds (£255,000): —(hereinafter referred to as "the instalment portion of the loan") (1) That the term of the instalment portion of the Joan shall be twenty (20) j years from the Ist day of December, 1940. j (2) That the rate of interest payable in respect of the instalment portion of the loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender ©r lenders a rate of interest exceeding Three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d ) per centum per annum. (3) That the instalment portion of the loan shall be repaid in respect of the following amounts: — (a) Sixty thousand pounds (£60,000). (b) Seventy-five thousand pounds (£75,000). (c) Fifty thousand pounds (£50,000). (d) Fifty thousand pounds (£50,000). (c) Twenty thousand pounds (£20,000). as follows:— (a) As to the sum (a) of Sixty thousand pounds (£60,000) by forty (40) equal half-yearly instalments of Two thousand one hundred and sixty-nine pounds seven shillings and sixpence (£2,169 7s 6d) each (being part interest at the rate of Three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d) per centum per annum and part principal) the first of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of June, 1941 and the last of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of December 1960. (b) As to the sum (b) of Seventy-five thousand pounds (£75,000) by Forty (40; equal half-yearly instalments of Two thousand seven hundred and eleven pounds fourteen shillings and fourpence (£2,711 14s 4d) each (being part interest at the rate of Three pounds seventeen skillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d) per centum per annum and part principal) the first of such instalments being payable on the Isfrday of June, 1941 and the last of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of December 1960. (c) As to the sum (c) of Fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) by Forty (40) equal half, yearly instalments of One thousand eight hundred and seven pounds sixteen shillings and threepence (£1,807 16s 3d) each (being part interest at the rate of Three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d) per centum per annum and part principal) the first of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of June, 1941 and the last of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of December 1960. (d) As to the sum (d) of Fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) by Forty (40) equal halfyearly instalments of One thousand eight hundred and seven pounds sixteen shillings and threepence (£1,807 16s 3d) each (being part interest at the rate of Three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d) per centum per annum and part principal) the first of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of June, 1941 and the last of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of December, 1960. (c) As to the sum (c) of Twenty thousand pounds (£20,000) by Forty (40) equal half-yearly instalments of Seven hundred and twenty-three pounds two shillings and sixpence (£723 2s 6d) each (being part interest at the rate of Three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence (£3 17s 6d) per centum per annum and part principal) the first of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of June, 1941 and the last of such instalments being payable on the Ist day of December 1960. (4) That payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no instalment shall be paid out of loan moneys. 3. In respect of the balance of the said special loan amounting to Two hundred and twenty-nine thousand five hundred pounds (£229,500) (hereinafter referred to as "the balance of the loan"). (1) That the term of the balance of the loan shall be ten (10) years from the Ist day of December, 1940. (2) That the rate of interest payable in respect of the balance of the loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate of interest exceeding Three pounds fifteen shillings (£3 15s Od) per centum per annum. (3) That a sinking fund consisting of annual payments for ten years of Three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s Od) per centum per annum be established in connection with the balance of the loan. (4) That payment of interest and the repayment of principal in respect of the salance of the loan shall be made in New Zealand. (5) That no amount payable either as interest or sinki-g fund iv respect of tho balance of the loan shall be.paid out of loan moneys. 4. That the security for the interest principal sinking fund and other charges and repayment of the said special loan be a special rate of Fo,ur hundred and fourteen eight hundredths of a penny ( 41%ood) in the pound made and levied upon the rateable value *on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington. 5. That the rate payable for brokerage underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said special loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the resolution will be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Wellington City Council to be held on Monday, the 2nd September, 1940, at the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba Street, Wellington.
