Outclassing Swifts in every department of the game, Pettme took a well-deserved 3-2 win from them in their meeting on the principal ground at the Basin Reserve.

Petone had the better of the first half. In which they scored twice, once through a good solo effort by Bennie and once rather luckily from a corner kick by Craig, the ball going in off a Swifts defender. Shanlde got one goal for Swifts before half-time.
