HUTCHINSON v. GILO.
Under the auspices of the Wellington Boxing Association Young Gildp. the "Filipino Flash," and Johnny Hutchinson, highly-ranked American negro lightweight, will meet at the Town Hall next Saturday night over twelve threeminute rounds. This contest, for which the purse will be the largest offered for a contest in this city for many years, is the most important since the days or Sarron and Donovan and can be depended upon to produce even more brilliant boxing than was displayed by that famous pair. Gildo has firmly established himself as the prime favourite of Wellington enthusi asts. His amazing skill and his willingness to mix it with any opponent, combined with his inimitable mannerisms, have placed him in a class of his own, and if there is any boxer in New Zealand fit to be matched with the American it is Gildp, who has already shown that Hutchinson holds no terrors for him. Hutchinson was a sensation in Australia and his performances at Auckland : have been warmly • acclaimed. He is at present in Wellington training for the bout. Particulars are advertised.
