RUGBY FOOTBALL

CHANGE IN SATURDAY'S GAMES The draw for August 10 was released at last night's meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Rugby Football Union, as follows: — Senior Championship.—Wellington v. Athletic, Athletic Park; Johnsonville v. Eastbourne, Johnsonville; Petone v. Poneke, Petone. •' Hardham Cup.—Hutt v. University, Hutt; Marist Bros. Old Boys v. Oriental; and College Old Boys v. St. Patrick's College Old Boys, in town Johnsonviiite auviseu tnat they couict not raise a full side for an early match at Athletic Park next Saturday, so it was decided to play the AthleticPetone second senior division game there instead. The Athletic-Johnson-ville senior game is transferred to Prince of Wales Park, at 3 p.m. The New Zealand Rugby Football Union advised that £25 had been voted for the primary schools tournament, which is under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Union. The withdrawal of the Training College third grade team because of injuries and military duties was accepted. The Wellington Primary Schools' Union advised that Mr. W. F. Dudson had resigned from the position of delegate to the management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union because of military duties. Mr. L. Stannard had been elected to take his place. A request was received from Marist Bros. Old Boys Club that the PoriruaMarist junior third division match be transferred to town instead of being played at Porirua. The reason advanced was that the team had difficulty in fielding a side to travel, and also that they had travelled once this year already to Porirua. The request was not granted, however, the draw having

been made in such a way as to equalise the travelling. Any alteration would upset the balance. There were present Messrs. J. N. Millard (chairman), G. F. Jackson,; H. Murphy, J. D. King, H. B. Simmonds, W. F. Dudson, A. de Clifton, J. Moffitt, R. J. Burke, F. J. Tilyard, H. D. Morgan, Professor Boyd Wilson, Father Cleary, and Mrs. A. E. Neilson (stcretary).
