COMPETITIONS RECITAL.

The Dominion finals in the National Musical Competitions of the ; Centennial Musical Festival will be judged by Mr. Andersen Tyrer at the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Friday evening next. Three choirs will compete—the Dorian Choir, Auckland, the Orpheus Choir, Christchurch, and tfie A. Capella Singers, Wellington. The test pieces are part-songs by Mr. Andersen Tyrer and Sir Charles Stanford. . On the same evening two visiting string quartets from Auckland and Christchurch, will compete. Their test pieces are movements from quartets by' Haydn and Brahms respectively. In addition to the competitions two supporting artists, Merle Gamble (soprano) and Clifford Huntsman (pianist) will appear in recitals. This is the concluding concert of the Centennial Music Festival, and the winners of the Dominion competitions for original choral and orchestral works will be announced. "
