CUTTING THE TREES

(To tfte Editor.)

Sir, —I would like to support "Disgusted" regarding the removal of the trees at the Wadestown-Grant Road corner. The City Council .recently, strange to say, discussed the prevention of vandalism in public parks, etc., and then we Behold a fine piece of vandalism committed by that august body. Vandalism is vandalism, no matter who commits it, and there is no excuse for destroying beautiful trees unless they constitute a danger, either through decay or some other cogent reason. I would suggest that a public petition be got up and presented to the Mayor requesting that such destruction be put an end to. I might mention also that seyeral fine trees were hacked down just near the Anglican Church at Wadestown.— I am, etc., ■■•, SANITY.
