LOSS ON EXHIBITION FRUIT.

Affairs of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, Ltd., were criticised at the annual provincial conference of Canterbury delegates on Saturday. Mr. T. C. Brash, the Dominion president, said that fruit growers should !be thankful that the. Government had taken over the control of marketing. Although fruit ;had not been mentioned , in. the. SOS for more production, it had been'proved in the last 25 years to be an essential; foo"d, and it would still be required in large quantities. Mr. Brash reviewed the finances of the federation, and said that the margin of gross • profit. remained practically the same,as in the past. The federation-had expenses, that would not be incurred by. a business organisation operating, on the same scale. The last Dominion conference had cost £430, and £1378 had been lost on the venture at the Centennial Exhibition. •
