OBITUARY
MR. WILLIAM LOCK
1 (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, This Day. # The death has occurred at Nelson after a short illness of Mr. William Lock, aged 83. The late Mr. Lock was one of Nelson's most prominent citizens and his career in local body and administrative work is probably unequalled in the Dominion. He was Mayor of Nelson for eight years. Mr. Lock was a grain and produce merchant for 40 years. He served with the administration of primary and secondary education in New Zealand for 53 years and was a member of the Nelson Education Board for 30 years and chairman for some years. Other organisations of which he was a member for varying terms are the New Zealand Municipal Association, j Nelson Harbour Board, Nelson Hospital Board, and the Cawthron Trust Board. .
