MAILS MISSING
POSTED TO MIDDLE EAST
UNLIKELY TO ARRIVE
(Received July 18, 8 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
Postal authorities here announce that there is reason to believe that mails posted between May 4 and May 17, and also parcels posted between April 26 and May 14 for Palestine and the Middle East have either been lost or probably will not reach their destination.
Postal officials in Wellington have no knowledge of any New Zealand mails being included in the above losses. It is considered probable that only mails from Australia were lost.
