SURPRISE IN LONDON
DISHONOURABLE STATEMENT
LONDON, July 5,
M. Baudouin's statement has caused surprise in official circles in London, and it has drawn the reminder that when, contrary to the solemn undertaking given by the Republic of France to Great Britain, the Bordeaux Government surrendered to Germany and Italy, it became the. servant of those two Powers.
It has now become too difficult to discover whether any statement issued by M. Baudouin or put out by members of his Government is genuine, but even assuming that this dishonourable statement comes from him it must be remembered that it could only have been made public by the Bordeaux Government and their Italian or German masters.
