WIN-THE-WAR RALLY

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —My attention has been drawn to your report of the above rally held at Christchurch last Sunday. The report attributed to the Press Association states that the attendance was 600. Actually, despite the fact that very wintry conditions prevailed and rain and hail fell during the proceedings, there was an attendance of over 6000 who manifested their faith and loyalty to the Empire and their belief in the ultimate victory of Great Britain for the moral and spiritual values for which she is fighting. In stating that only 600 were present the suggestion may be made that we in Christchurch are only luke-warm with regard to our war effort. Such is not the case and 'the huge attendance, considering the weather, was a tribute to our pride and faith in our great Empire.—l am, etc., D. W. RUSSELL, Chairman, Win the War Dedication Rally Committee.
