SOLDIERS AT NATIONAL CLUB
Mrs. H. E. Avery (Wellington East) and several helpers were responsible for the arrangements made for the entertainment of men of the fighting forces at the National Club on Sunday last, when a large number of soldiers availed themselves of the comfortable rooms of the club. The increased attendance each weekend is proving that this activity is much' appreciated by men on leave from Trentham and other branches of the services.
The little bits of soap that are left over should be tossed into a tin. When the tin is nearly full melt the soap with a slow, steady heat. Then let it get quite cold —the colder the better; in the refrigerator, if possible. Finally slip a knife all around it and you have a block of useful soap instead of useless scraps.
