A new English car of outstanding economy has just been announced in New Zealand. This is the eight horsepower Anglia, a product of the Ford organisation, 100 per cent. English and built at the New Zealand Ford factory. | Among the many desirable features of the Anglia, its exceptional size and roominess are of paramount interest. The Anglia has a large luggage compartment accessible from the outside, j The spare wheel and tools are kept in | separate compartments of their own. Inside appointments are also commendable. The instruments are centrally grouped on ■ a plastic panel finished in grained walnut, with window facings to match. Upholstery is genuine New Zealand leather, and many colour options of both interior finish and body are available. ' An appreciable saving in weight has been effected throughout the construction of the Anglia, and other important features are a reserve vacuum tank to provide constant operation of the dual windscreen wipers, Girling brakes on all four wheels, adjustable double-act-ing hydraulic shock absorbers, pushpull hand-brake located under dash, down draught carburettor with easy starting device, and chain-driven camshaft. .
