Squadron Leader T. W. White, who has been commanding officer at Weraroa since its inception last year, leaves on transfer to : Rongotai this week. Both Squadron Leader and Mrs. White have-been popular in Levin and will carry away many good wishes. Squadron Leader R. Sinclair, of the. Air Force Headquarters Staff, is to suo ceed Squadron Leader White. The Rt. Hon. G. W, Forbes "left Wellington for the south last night by the steamer express. Mr. W. "Calder Mackay has been elected to the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, in place of Mr. H. W.. Shove* who has left, as ~ overseas ' commissioner in general charge of V.M.C.A. work for the New Zealand Forces. Squadron Leader L. E.. Jarman, D.F.C., has been promoted to the rank of Wing Commander, according to advice received by cablegram by his father, Mr. H. E. Jarman, manager of the Christchurch Tramway Board. Mr. C. S.- Luney, presideht of tha Canterbury Builders* Association, arrived today by the steamer express.
