OVERSEAS CHILDREN
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —My wife and I contemplated taking several "little Britons" for the duration of the war. Since then, the taxation proposals have been made public with the result that we are not so confident of our ability to maintain any of the visitors for an indefinite
period
I wish to inquire if the Government is permitting for these children the usual exemption made to the parents in Income Tax return forms whereby £50 a year is allowed for each child whether "stepchildren or adopted, or grandchildren."—l am, etc.,
INQUIRER. [The Government has stated that this will be provided for.]
