"This man is a real pest about the city streets, and the police have frequently received complaints about his conduct," said : Sub-Inspector v L. R. Capp in the Magistrate's Court yester* day concerning. Thomas' Ethel Griffiths, aged 62, a labourer, who was sentenced by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., to one month's imprisonment for using indecent language. Eric Hansen, aged 20, a. Norwegian, seaman, who was .stated to have left a tanker in Wellington recently,l was convicted of. unlawfully landing in New Zealand and was sentenced to one month's imprisonment pending deportation. A remand for a week was granted in the case of Lawrence Alexander Fredericksdn, aged 32, a barman, who is charged, with obtaining from Mildred C. Hobbs £15 by falsely representing that, he- was a. member, of th» Police Force. ~ .:•.., : . . ,
