Ajvery kindly reference to New Zea-lafr#is-:«6htained in a letter received by. the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, frpm Captain K. V. Karlsson, of the Finnish barque Penang, the "Herald reports. "I must take this, perhaps last, opportunity," the captain wrote, "of thanking you and the people of Auckland for.all your and their interest and • kindness to me and my country. I do wish I could once more visit lovely New Zealand, which I pray God to save from the horrors of war. The Penang discharged fertiliser at Auckland last February. Before she left, 18' New Zealand-made oilskin ,coats were presented to her officers and men by the Navy League and Missions to SeamWbn behalf of the citizens, as a token of sympathy with Finland m her fight against Russian aggression.
