SCHOOL COPPER TRAIL
The pupils of the Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College built a copper trail £56 4s 9d long on Friday and Saturday last, in aid of the Sick, Wounded, and Distress Fund. This1 splendid effort increased the total raised by the college since its fund opened a month ago to £97 0s 3d. For the raising of money the school is divided into five groups on a class basis and a barometer in the Assembly Hall shows the day-to-day position for each group. These groups have shown a good deal of ingenuity in the raising of their money—guessing competitions, sweet stalls, selling used stamps, bottles and newspapers, and running a cocoa club are but a few of them—and their keenness is very apparent.
